This project has UNDP as its technical partner and adopts the UNDP model on community engagements where the Directorate and other partners collaborate in a tripartite arrangement to establish Common Facility Centers in benefitting communities to process farm products or produce. Under the arrangement, each party plays distinct roles in project implementation and sustainability; the Local government provides the infrastructure and land, NDE the processing equipment & machinery while the host community source for raw materials and market the end product(s). Once established, the Centre is handed over to the host community to manage sustainably. The Directorate has established ten (10) CFCs in Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bauchi, Cross River, Jigawa, Kano, Katsina, Niger and Ondo States.
