As part of the Federal Government’s effort at promoting entrepreneurship development and skill acquisition among different categories of the unemployed, the Hon. Minister of Labour and Employment has said that government will continue to strengthen and empower the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) to enable it achieve more in the execution of its statutory duty of employment generation.

Dr. Ngige stated this during the NDE Special Day at the 40th edition of the Kaduna International Trade Fair. The Minister who was represented at the event by Asiwaju R. O. Basorun, a Board member of the NDE stated that the Directorate had within the last fifteen months placed over 96,000 unemployed women and youth in the various vocational trades such as cosmetology and other domestic and technical trades whose beneficiaries are resettled with equipment and start-up capital.
Earlier in his address, the Director general and Chief Executive Officer of the NDE, Dr. Nasiru Mohammed Ladansaid that programmes and schemes of the Directorate are designed to promote Attitudinal Change, Employment Generation, Poverty Reduction and

Wealth Creation. Considering the enormity of the task for Job creation, the DG expressed the willingness of the Directorate to collaborate with both Public and Private organizations both in order ensure many unemployed Nigerians are employed for sustainable livelihood
In his welcome Address, the president of Kaduna Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture (KADCCIMA) represented by Alh. SulaimanAliyu (KADCCIMA Council member) commended the NDE for being consistent in show-casing beneficiaries of its various training programme at the Kaduna International Trade fair every year.

The NDE Special Day was also attended by other Members of the NDE Board Incuding, Mrs. OsuntujiOlabumi, Mrs. AbiolaBawa, Lady NgoziOkonkwo, Mr. AdoyiOchigbo, Mr. AliyuUgbane, Barr. Victor Onuoha, Mr. Hassan Tai Ejibunu , Comrade SunusiYakasai and Board secretary Mrs. Stella Chukwuma. Some Directors of the NDE who added colour to the event areAbubakarFikpo (NWZ Director) Engr.
