As part of the Directorate’s continuing efforts to drive Job Creation in Nigeria, the Director General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) Dr. Nasiru Mohammed LadanArgungu has expressed his willingness to collaborate with the Nigeria Employers Consultative Association, an umbrella organization of Employers in the private Sector in Nigeria.
The DG made the declaration when he received the Director General, NECA, Mr. Timothy Olawale on a coutesy visit to Corporate Headquarters of the NDE. The DG NECA was accompanied by Mrs. AdenikeAjala, Deputy Director, Abuja Liaison office and Mr. Thomson Akpabio, Deputy Director, legal Regulatory and Taxation.

Earlier in his remarks, DG, NECA requested for a robust collaboration with the Directorate in three key areas Firstly, he expressed the need to resuscitate the NECA, NDE and Dragnet solutions partnership, secondly, the need to put in place a robust synergy with NDE in the area of Technical Skills Development. This according to him was in recognition of the fact that NDE is the federal agency driving job creation initiatives. Thirdly, the DG then promoted the idea to stage a job fair where Employers of labour and Job seekers will interface on a platform that would be beneficial to them.

While making his response, the Director General, National Directorate of Employment (NDE) Dr. Nasir MohammedLadanArgungun stated that the idea to collaborate with such an important body like NECA is a welcome development in view of the changing trends in the Nigeria’slabour market which requires ICT solutions and proactive measures to quickly respond to the employment needs of Nigerians. He said with highly experience staff in NDE, the targets of the planned collaboration is achievable within agreed timeline. After due discussion, the meeting agreed to constitute a committee that would fine-tune the areas ofthe synergy between the NDE and NECA. Finally the two Director Generals presented copies of information fliers of their respective organizations in reciprocal order.
