World Bank YESSO Task Team led by Prof. FolusoOkunmadewa, Social Protection LedSpecialist on March, 18th, 2019 shared the experience of Implementation status of the Youth Employment and Social Support Operation (YESSO) with the Management of the National Directorate of Employment led on the other side by Dr. Nasiru Mohammed LadanArgugun. This sharing was held in the framework of the interactive meeting platform. The goal of the meeting was to improve the understanding and up-date the NDE Management on the planned YESSO restructuring.
The Restructuring plan is sequel to World Bank’s review of implementation of the various components of YESSO among them is the Skills for Job which the NDE is driving the implantation. The socialprotection lead specialist said the S4J is satisfactorily being managed. He appreciated the performance of the Directorate for exhibiting the commitment to implementation of the component.
The NDE Team targets to achieve 50,000 individuals on Skills for Job by June, 2020 the date for the closure of the World Bank credit to Nigeria.       
The Director General, NDE, in his response expressed continued support to activities of the Skills for Job to ensure that the set target for the National Directorate of Employment is achieved.

Accordingly, the restructuring paper is considering increase in the allocation to Skills for Job component to achieve the 2020 targets through financing token incentives to employers of interns and apprentices and provision of starter pack for successful graduates of Skills for Job training.
