The Director General of National Directorate of Employment, Silas Agara says the organisation under his watch is adopting strategic steps to address the scourge of unemployment in the country to strengthen resilience and sustainable economy in line with the policy trust of president Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
 
Silas Agara disclosed this while in audience with various groups that paid him a solidarity visit at his residence in Akwanga Saturday over his recent appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
 
Those who came calling were members of the Ekye Peace and Unity Forum from Doma Local Government and delegation from the family of late Zakari Idde, team of #Webelieve project 2019 and foundation for justice Development and peace ( FJDP ) among others respectively.
Addressing the visiting groups, the Director General of National Directorate of Employment pledged his readiness to partner any organizations that has a blueprint that is in tandem with the Act establishing NDE.
 
Silas Agara point out that the mandate of NDE it was not to give employment to people but to create employment opportunities with the focus to harness potentials of youths by equipping them with entrepreneurship skills that will make them job creators instead of Job seekers.
He disclosed that in few months to come, the Directorate will embark on feasibility study across each local government area of the federation to enable it ascertain which kind of programs will fit with the peculiarity of the area to before the end of this year
 
Leader of the Ekye Peace and Unity Forum, God’spower Ede among other group leaders, described Silas Agara as an exceptional leader with positive track records of achievements, urging him to see his appointment as another ample opportunity to lift army of unemployed youths in Nasarawa state and beyond out of the streets.
